The purpose of Exchange is to encourage creative businesses to use University resources and to help foster greater knowledge sharing between businesses and the University partners – *London Metropolitan University, London College of Fashion, Royal College of Art, London College of Communication, and Goldsmiths College University of London.* Hosted by Metropolitan Works, monthly networking events provide a fantastic opportunity for creative businesses and professionals to network and share concerns. Each event incorporates a talk by an industry speaker followed by informal networking. *The next Exchange event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 29th October 2008 (6.00 - 8.30 pm) and will feature a talk by Jamie Anley of JAM.* Jamie graduated with a BSC in architecture from The Bartlett at University College London in 1995 and went straight on to co-found JAM Design and Communications Ltd with partners Astrid Zala and Matthieu Paillard. JAM has a well recognised and respected history for creating imaginative and innovative creative output across a multitude of different disciplines. The last ten years has seen JAM work on some of the most avant-garde projects in product, object and installation design, retail and bespoke brand environments, exhibitions and events. JAM also work as creative catalysts, leading and facilitating innovation and transformation in a number of industries. JAM’s work has pioneered a new relationship between brands and contemporary culture, using creativity as a catalyst for transformation. As a result their work is featured in numerous books, galleries and museums, frequently televised, and often in lifestyle and design magazines. Jamie Anley is a mentor at Central St Martins and frequently accepts invitations to speak at colleges and in conferences in the UK and abroad exploring the relationship between design, communication and the future of branding. JAM practices ‘the art of branding’ and is unique in its ability to create a cultural currency for brands.
