MOULD MAKING & CASTING FOR PROTOTYPING

Three consecutive evenings 6 – 9pm This practical course allows designers and inventors to create prototypes using a variety of materials from soft rubber to hard plastics. By the end of the course users will be able to make a casting box, a silicone mould and small batches of objects in silicone, urethane, polyester and acrylic. Resin applications include prototyping, jewellery making and producing parts for reverse engineering. Course delegates are encouraged to bring their own object from which to create a mold. Evening 1 Introduction to casting, making a casting box and making a mould. > Evening 2 Different materials, casting and advanced casting > Evening 3 Advanced casting, multiple material casting/over moulding, multiple pit moulds, polishing and post finishing.
