Grasshopper for Rhino – 1 Day Workshop

This is an intense one day workshop. Grasshopper is a graphical algorithm editor tightly integrated with Rhino’s modelling tools. Unlike RhinoScript, Grasshopper requires no knowledge of programming or scripting, but still allows designers to build form generators from the simple to the awe inspiring.

The workshop is geared towards designers that have a working understanding of NURBS based modelling techniques within Rhino, and would like to extend their modelling knowledge using generative algorithms.

The course will include;

Session 1A (Approximately 3‐4 hrs)

1. Introduction
a. Background and Interface
b. Interpretation of Rhino3D tools
c. Relationship to various Rhinoscript functions

2. Toolsets
a. Logics and Scalars explained
b. Workflow for design development

Session 1B (Approximately 3‐4 hrs)
1. Case studies using Rhinoscript and Grasshopper

2. Brief introduction to VB.NET within Grasshopper

Pre-requisites

Working understanding of NURBS modelling in Rhino
